At first glance, Lisa closely resembles a human presenter. However, upon closer observation, certain characteristics—such as slow blinking and slightly stilted movements—reveal her artificial nature. Her delivery, while clear, lacks the nuanced intonations typically associated with human anchors.
Despite these minor imperfections, Lisa’s performance is quite serviceable, especially for environments where news serves as background information, such as offices or public waiting areas. Notably, videos featuring Lisa on Odisha TV’s Twitter account mention her name but do not explicitly state that she is AI-generated, which could lead to viewers assuming she is human.
India’s adoption of AI-generated news presenters aligns with a global trend, with similar implementations observed in countries like Indonesia, Taiwan, Kuwait, Malaysia, and China. The motivations behind this shift may include cost-saving measures and the ability to deliver news content around the clock without human intervention.
